Dice Alfred Maudslay: I made the acquaintance of Dr. Otto Stoll…I learnt that he wished to make the ascent of Fuego [volcano]; so we arranged to start the very next day for the village of Alotenango. On the 7th. January we left that village at 7 o`clock in the morning with seven mozos, carrying food, clothing, and my camp-bed and rode for an hour towrds the mountains, hen we dismounted and sent back the mules.
Lo de las mulas me hizo recordar cuando visité El mirador, en el norte de Petén y anduve durante cinco días en la selva, en mi Rucio, que era una mula.
Me dieron ganas de compartir las fotos de A Glimpse at Guatemala(1899); un libro publicado por Ann Carey Maudslay y Alfred Percival Maudslay, viajeros británicos que estuvieron en Guatemala a finales del siglo XIX.
