“Hansen got his math wrong. NASA has now quietly corrected
the records. The warmest year (out of the last 127 years) is
1934! And six out of the 10 warmest years occurred before 90
percent of the recent growth in greenhouse gases.
This story has been largely ignored by the mainstream press. The
Washington Post did cover it, but their piece was mostly a defense
from Hansen, arguing that this was no big deal. If this error
had been the other way around, NASA would have issued news releases
and it would have been front page news in every paper in the country.
The Post story doesn’t even quote Stephen McIntyre, the researcher who
found NASA’s error. Nor does it give the backstory of how Hansen
wouldn’t share his data. Rather than raising serious questions about Hansen’s other claims, the Post“.
